Flue Gas Treatment (FGT)

Flue Gas Treatment (FGT) has become a main focus of electric utilities and industrial operations due to increasingly stringent air quality standards. Companies seek to fulfil with air quality regulations using cost-effective fuels. Hence, the need arises for effective Flue Gas Treatment options.

Treating flue gases with Calcium products is a proven technology. Flue gas is created from the thermal treatment process in Energy from Waste plants (EfW) which comprises acidic gases such as Hydrogen Chloride (HCl), Sulphur Dioxide (SO2), Hydrogen Fluoride (HF). Calcium products are used in three main Flue Gas Treatment processes of dry, semi-dry and wet processes.

Our High Active Quicklime, Hydrated Lime and GCC are widely used as reagents for treating acidic air emissions and neutralise acidic gases. Our Hydrated Lime has small particle size, high pore volume and especially the high surface area of the product help improving the Desulfurisation efficiency of both EfW plants and Power Station. This ensures that these plants comply with both local and European environmental legislation for air emissions.

Our Calcium products provide a cost effective, with less dosage, less waste production compared with other reagents and efficient solution to the treatment of flue gases generated from the energy recovery process, which reduces the waste volumes sent to landfill.

A wide range of industries is using our Lime products in the FGT are Minerals (Cement, Glass, Ceramic, Brick and Tile, etc.), Ferrous (Sinter, Electric Arc Furnace, Coke Oven, Blast Furnace, etc.) and Non-Ferrous (Copper, Aluminium, Lead, etc.).
